Icon of a globe.

While students often choose to come to Ithaca because of its college-town charm, IC offers plenty of opportunities to live and work in some of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities.

In particular, the college’s three satellite programs give students a chance to spend a semester taking classing and interning at companies in Los Angeles, New York City, and London.

The ICNYC program, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2017, aims to give real work experience to students through an internship while encouraging them to build a professional network. It also aims to give them life experience by teaching them how to be independent in one of the biggest cities in the world.

The IC London Center program began in 1972—making it one of London’s longest-standing study-abroad programs. Students take classes in a Victorian house located in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The program offers courses in business, communications, fine arts, humanities, and social sciences, while the internships provide immersion into British culture.

The college’s Los Angeles program allows students the opportunity to intern at a wide variety of media companies. Founded in the spring of 1994, the program offers classes for IC students at the James B. Pendleton Center, right next to Warner Brothers’ and Universal Studios.
